Danielle Templar-Coates
Life brings many challenges and understandably at times we might look for support in facing them.
Having the courage to even contemplate talking through our issues and challenges can be incredibly difficult.
Often, we can suppress our feelings of unhappiness, but deep down, we can feel the pain from our past or the anguish from our current problems. Even if we do have someone to talk to, we can feel unable to share the truth for the fear of hurting others or being judged by them.

About me and my practice
I provide a confidential, therapeutic space to help you understand whatever difficulties or problems you might be experiencing in life. As someone independent and outside of your day-to-day life, I work with you to explore your issues and help you find new ways of looking at your situation. This allows you to gain a deeper understanding of yourself, helping to make new, meaningful choices or find new ways of coping and responding to your current difficulties.
When we understand a little about how our mind works and we have some guide posts on how to manage our emotions healthily, we not only build resilience, but we can thrive and, over time, find a sense of peace and growth.
Experience
I work as an integrative therapist, which means I draw upon different techniques to create a therapeutic roadmap that aligns with your specific needs. However, at the heart of my practice, is a belief in the importance of the counsellor-client relationship, underpinned by person-centred principles.
In addition to my private practice, I work with a leading UK registered charity, Parenting Project, which supports family mental health and wellbeing. I have also previously worked with the Birmingham and Solihull Mental Health NHS Foundation Trust (CAMHS) providing support to children and young people.
I am fully insured; all of my work is clinically monitored, and I hold an enhanced DBS certificate.

Initial Consultation
It is often helpful to start with an informal, no-obligation telephone call to discuss the reasons you are thinking of coming to counselling and whether it could be helpful for you. It is also an opportunity for you to gain a sense of whether I am the right counsellor for you and if I think I can help with the issues you bring.
Fees
Counselling sessions for individuals last up to 50 minutes and cost £65 per session.
A secure link will be provided by email or text, ahead of each session, for you to make payment. I use a provider called SumUp and you can read more about them here.
Please kindly note that if you wish to postpone or cancel an appointment, a minimum of 24 hours' notice is required. In the absence of this, full payment for the session will be due.
